F-Gas certified engineers
Every air conditioning install and refrigerant handling task is carried out by an F-Gas certified engineer, legally required under the UK Fluorinated Greenhouse Gases Regulations 2015.
Insured & qualified
We carry public liability and professional indemnity insurance. Electrical connections are completed or verified by a competent electrician to BS 7671 standards.
Commissioning records
We record system pressures, refrigerant charge and leak-test results on every job. This paperwork protects your warranty and proves compliance if you sell the property.
How we install your AC
From first call to handover, every step is planned so the job is done once and done properly.
1. Free consultation
We start with a quick phone or video call to understand the room, how you use it and where the indoor and outdoor units could go. We also check your electrical supply and any planning constraints.
2. Heat-load survey
We measure the room, note ceiling height, glazing, insulation and sunlight. For larger or open-plan spaces we calculate the cooling and heating load in kW/BTU so the unit is neither undersized nor wasteful.
3. Fixed-price quote
Your quote itemises the indoor unit, outdoor unit, pipe and cable kit, brackets, electrical work, commissioning and VAT. No hidden extras and no pressure to buy on the day.
4. Installation day
Our F-Gas registered engineer mounts the indoor unit, routes the insulated pipe and cable to the outdoor unit, vacuum-tests the system and opens the pre-charge. Most single-room installs finish in one day.
5. Commissioning & handover
We pressure-test, leak-test, run the system in heating and cooling, record refrigerant weights and show you how to use the remote and WiFi app. You receive a commissioning certificate and warranty paperwork.
6. Aftercare & servicing
We leave the system clean and working, then book your first annual service. Regular filter cleaning and a yearly F-Gas check keep efficiency up and warranty valid.
Refrigerant top-up policy
R32 and R410A systems must contain the correct refrigerant charge. Too little reduces cooling and heating power and can damage the compressor; too much is equally harmful. We size and weigh every top-up carefully.
- Most single-split systems come pre-charged for a pipe run of roughly 5–7.5 m.
- Runs longer than 7.5 m often need a measured refrigerant top-up to keep rated capacity and efficiency.
- We calculate the exact top-up from the manufacturer's gram-per-metre figure, not a guess.
- Top-ups are only carried out by our F-Gas engineer using calibrated scales and recovery equipment.
- If your run exceeds 15 m we will advise before installation — some units need a larger pump or are unsuitable.
- We never vent refrigerant to atmosphere. Any recovered gas is handled under waste F-Gas rules.
When does a top-up apply?
Up to 7.5 m run: most units are fully pre-charged. No extra refrigerant is normally needed.
7.5 m – 15 m run: we add refrigerant by weight based on the manufacturer's data plate. A typical R32 split needs roughly 20 g extra per metre beyond the pre-charged length.
Over 15 m run: we review the unit's maximum allowable pipe length and lift height. Some installations need a larger pump, a different model or a secondary drain arrangement.
R32 is mildly flammable
R32 must be handled by an F-Gas certified engineer with specific training. It is illegal for unqualified persons to break into the refrigerant circuit.

Legal note: F-Gas and building regulations
In the UK, anyone installing, maintaining or decommissioning stationary refrigeration, air conditioning or heat-pump equipment containing fluorinated gases must hold a valid F-Gas certificate. We keep our certifications current and can provide evidence on request. Electrical work is completed to BS 7671 and, where required, notified through a competent person scheme.
